Molecular structure:
Properties:
2,4-Diethylthiazolinone is a thiazolinone-based compound and an important intermediate for the synthesis of many organic compounds. 2,4-Diethylthiazolinone exhibits strong absorption in the 260-420nm range, making it a highly efficient photoinitiator used to initiate the curing systems of unsaturated polyesters and acrylic monomers. Its greatest advantage lies in its good miscibility with organic solvents, making it suitable for colorless or colored coatings, printing inks, wooden furniture, decorative paints, and adhesives. When used together with anionic initiators, it also acts as a catalyst. UV coatings and UV inks are its important applications.
